About Us

We inspire. We provoke. We educate. As a central player in establishing Ontario’s economic and environmental leadership, we ensure the sustainable and responsible growth of the province’s electricity system. Everything from comprehensive, long-term power system plans to leading and coordinating conservation initiatives, we create the blueprint for how Ontario gets its power today and beyond.

Ontario’s electricity system is made up of 30,000 kilometres of transmission circuits feeding into about 80 distribution systems that collectively deliver as much as 30,000 megawatts of electricity generated across the province. It’s an impressive network that ensures more than 11 million Ontarians get the power they need to live their lives and run their businesses.

Ensuring the future of that system is a big job only a thought leader like the Ontario Power Authority can handle. A job we can do only because of our people; people who connect their personal passions to the province at large, connect their present insights to future plans, and, most importantly, connect Ontario to the possibilities of power. As one of those people, someone who wants to make a tangible contribution to your province and the world at large, we invite you to find your outlet at the Power Authority.
